“Metrofan” Bicycle Path Project: Connecting the Krayot Region
The Ministry of Transportation, through the “Cross Israel” company, has begun the construction of a bicycle path network known as “Metrofan”.
This metropolitan project involves building bicycle paths that will traverse five local authorities: Kiryat Yam, Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Haim, and Haifa.
The project aims to facilitate cycling along leisure areas, employment zones, and educational institutions, creating a continuous and safe infrastructure for cyclists. By doing so, it will help reduce air pollution and encourage bicycle riding among residents.
A key objective of the “Metropan” project is to establish excellent and fast connectivity between various public transportation options in the Krayot region, including Israel Railways, the Metronit (BRT system), buses, and the cable car.
