Gedish Group was selected to manage the planning, and to manage and supervise the execution of Terminal Park, which is being built on the site of the city’s old airport.
With the removal of the fences that surrounded the park during the construction process, the park officially connected to the city’s vibrant tourism area and became a rich public-community park. This effectively erased the dividing line between the tourism zone and the city, creating an amazing connection of a city of leisure with its residents and guests.
The park’s planning concept was based on preserving its connection to the city’s old airport through very unique elements such as the preservation of a section of the existing runway, the construction of pergolas with airplane elements, graphics, and signage simulating airports, etc.
“The city’s new Central Park,” as the new park is called, contains charming spots, lawns, two parallel shaded promenades, one 300 meters long and the other 400 meters long, an amphitheater park, and a 6-meter high waterfall wall built in the heart of the park that will flow into ecological ponds.
Terminal Park, spanning an area of 150 dunams, will, as mentioned, include at its completion a public park featuring a variety of attractions, among them: a Ferris wheel, a roller coaster, virtual reality and gaming complexes, a Ninja complex, motor sports areas, a wave pool for surfers, a convention center, performance and fair venues, etc.
